In response to the recent terrorist attack in Kashmir, Jhalda has been observing a 12-hour bandh today, organized by the Jhalda Citizens' Forum and Jhalda Cricket Association. The bandh, which began at 6 AM and will continue until 6 PM, has seen widespread support, with most shops in the city remaining closed.
Manishranjan, a resident of Jhalda, was killed in a terrorist attack on Tuesday while visiting Pahalgam's Baisaran Valley with his wife and two children. The family was caught in gunfire during the attack.
His body is expected to return to Jhalda by this afternoon. The Jhalda Citizens' Forum has planned a procession with the body, and the Jhalda Cricket Association will participate in the protest, marching through the streets of the city.
